J ason F. Foster, DVM

Dr. Jason Foster
was born in Dallas, Texas. While he lived in the city, much of his life revolved around animals and the outdoors. Growing up, Dr. Foster and his father, an anesthesiologist, frequented the family farm where they raised goats. He enjoyed hunting and had many pointers and setters throughout the years.
When Dr. Foster was sixteen, he went to the Y.O. Ranch Summer camp in Kerrville, Texas where he worked on and off during the summers for ten years. While there he worked on many different types of exotic animals as well as the more domesticated horses and cattle. It was here he decided that he would put his love of nature and animals together and go to vet school.

After getting his B.A. at Tulane University, Dr. Foster attended Texas A&M University. He graduated with his Doctors in Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Upon graduation he came to Lake Travis Animal Hospital and in 2004 became owner.

Dr. Foster has been happily married since 1996 to his wife Desiree and shares with her two beautiful daughters, Lindsey and Avery and their yellow lab Jenny. In 2007, they were happy to announce a new addition to their family, their new son Brandon.

Craig C. Meyer, DVM

Dr. Craig Meyer started work at Lake Travis Animal Hospital in May 2000; however his interest in veterinary medicine started at a young age on his family's ranch. His interest expanded in high school when he had the opportunity to work with thoroughbred horses from broodmares to foaling to racing in Louisiana.

After his high school graduation, there was only one choice - to become a Longhorn. Dr. Meyer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in 1993, but not before meeting his future wife, Jennifer.

He graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2000, where he served as the student/faculty class representative for the last three years of school. At the start of veterinary school his hope was to become an equine vet and work with racehorses. However, he learned early on during his studies that his passion was companion animals, specifically surgery.

Upon graduation from Veterinary School, a tough choice had to be made by Dr. Meyer, to further his education and become a board certified surgeon, or to begin work and start a family with his now wife, Jennifer. Ultimately, the choice was easy. Since both Dr. Meyer and his wife bleed orange, they packed up and moved back to Austin and Lake Travis Animal Hospital. He and his wife are the proud parents of their daughter, Cailyn, and two sons, Zach and Reid. Rounding out the family are their two rescue pets, Mo, the fat cat, and Amber, the golden retriever.
