After his high school graduation, there was only one choice - to become
a Longhorn. Dr. Meyer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with
a Bachelor of Arts in 1993, but not before meeting his future wife, Jennifer.
He graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May of
2000, where he served as the student/faculty class representative for the
last three years of school. At the start of veterinary school his hope was
to become an equine vet and work with racehorses. However, he learned early
on during his studies that his passion was companion animals, specifically
surgery.
Upon graduation from Veterinary School, a tough choice had to be made by
Dr. Meyer, to further his education and become a board certified surgeon,
or to begin work and start a family with his now wife, Jennifer. Ultimately,
the choice was easy. Since both Dr. Meyer and his wife bleed orange, they
packed up and moved back to Austin and Lake Travis Animal Hospital. He and
his wife are the proud parents of their daughter, Cailyn, and two sons,
Zach and Reid. Rounding out the family are their two rescue pets, Mo, the
fat cat, and Amber, the golden retriever.
